I am proud of you, because it is nice to see a hospitalist who takes pride in what he does, I am with IPC but not week on/week off, but Mon/Friday job, and for 2 years to know whether I am gonna love it to practice it as long term one,,,, what do you think in this regards? I am interested in nephrology as well.

thanks

Wow, inspiring. I'm a junior/senior political science major right now who just fell in love with medicine and the human body.

Everyone is essentially screaming in my face "my god, you have no chance of being a doctor," and "why on earth would you want to be a doctor." So, it's discouraging; but I'm set in my goal.

The answer "That all it takes to become a physician is the will" is really uplifting and hits close to home. Thank you!

I would like to know what type of fringe benefits you get and what type of certification you need and when you have to renew it. It is for a high school project

Thanks

Dr. Rosen was my attending when I was a transitional year intern at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. He's a great guy who really knows his stuff. He used to carry the rough draft of this book around in his coat pocket, and we'd reference it often. VERY useful.

Overpopulation is the biggest problem in health care today? Overpopulation has never been proven to be true, but because it's scary and interesting, it recieved a lot of press. A lot of people worry needlessly over doomsayers' predictions. People lose credibility when they say things like this.

I bought his book when I was a 4th year med student, and I am very impressed with it. It is detailed enough for home studying as well as perfectly concise for quick lookups when on call. Thank you, Dr. Rosen, for creating a fantastic solution for the problem of too much info vs. too little info with regards to reference books!

"What information/advice do you wish you had known when you were a premed? (What mistakes or experiences have you encountered that you wished you had known about ahead of time so you could have avoided them?)

That all it takes to become a physician is the will."

I like that statement and I'm sure it hits home for all of those, myself included, with sub-par stats!

It's refreshing and encouraging to hear from a physician who still loves what he does for a living. Thank you
