IT Administrators

Hello!  We make this page available to IT administrators of schools and other institutions.
You may have been directed here by one of our members.  Chances are, your organization is blocking email from our servers.
We are IT professionals as well and we entirely understand the amount of time and effort involved in keeping spammers off a network.  Most likely, your department has policies in-place to block senders of large amounts of email which appear to be coming from a single source.
About Us
The Student Doctor Network is a popular Web site for college students entering into the health professions.  Our forums are very popular, generating over 12 million pageviews a month.  (Review our stats at compete.com.)
We want to assure you, we do not send SPAM.  We’ve never sent it, and we never will:

  • We are TRUSTe certified.
  • When a member joins our forums, they go through an industry standard double opt-in to receive email messages from our site.
  • Members set exactly what email notifications they want from our forums.  However, we find that most members choose to receive an email when a new Private Message is posted on their account or when a post is added to a thread they are following.  This generates a significant amount of member requested email traffic.
  • We actively manage undeliverable or reported messages.  Undeliverable messages that bounce back to our server generate a disabling of further emails from that member’s account.  The member is required to then update their email the next time they log-in to the site.
  • studentdoctor.net uses SPF authentication to assure you are receiving valid email from our servers
  • We use industry recognized AuthSMTP to perform virus screening and authentication of every email sent from our site
  • Our IP addresses and domain are not listed in any email blacklists or other spam repositories
  • We send about 80,000 emails a month — However, we only receive around 10 SPAM reports a month.  And of those few, it’s either a user email typo during registration or a user that pressed the wrong button in their Yahoo or GMail.

Hopefully you’ll choose to allow the “studentdoctor.net” domain and IP addresses from your email filter.
