Student Doctor Network Membership Wiki
From Student Doctor Network Wiki
There are four levels of volunteer involvement in SDN, each with its own set of defined responsibilities.
Advisors serve as stewards in their assigned forums. Advisors are individuals who have been identified as knowledgeable or particularly helpful to other members and work to encourage healthy debate on the forums. Although advisors are typically not involved in disciplinary issues, they can close threads as needed and remove unsuitable content. Advisors can move misdirected threads and merge duplicate threads, although they are restricted to performing these functions in their assigned forums. Advisors assist the forum moderators by reporting most inappropriate behavior so that it can be addressed by the moderation staff. Advisors will display a white suitcase with a green cross in their post profile under their avatar.
Moderators are individuals who have been selected for a higher level of responsibility in forum management. They can edit and delete posts, move posts within and out of their forums, merge threads, close threads, delete posts and threads and remove objectionable material. Additionally, moderators are responsible for discipline within their forums, and have the ability to warn offending users and give infractions for repeat or egregious misconduct. Moderators can in certain circumstances ban users who violate multiple policies or spam the forums. Moderators are restricted to using their moderation functions only in forums to which they are assigned. Moderators will display a white suitcase with a red cross in their post profile under their avatar.
Super moderators are selected from among the moderation staff and have been identified as particularly active and skilled at forum management. They perform all of the same functions as forum moderators, but are empowered to do so across all of the SDN forums. They may respond to reported posts in any forum if the forum moderator is not available, or if there is no primary moderator assigned. Super moderators may issue warnings and infractions, and are more directly involved in banning repeat offenders or spammers. Super moderators will display a white suitcase with a blue cross in their post profile under their avatar.
Administrators are involved in many of the operational aspects of SDN and its forums including software, content, maintenance and financial aspects. They can perform all of the same functions as moderators and super moderators and have additional tools for forum management at their disposal, including setting configuration options and managing user accounts. Admins will display a white suitcase with a black cross in their post profile under their avatar.
