Although Dr. House may claim “it’s never lupus”… sometimes it is! What is systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)? SLE is an autoimmune disease that can affect any tissue or organ in the body, but most often affects the skin, kidneys, and joints. This video discusses the known pathophysiology behind SLE, as well as the diagnostic criteria, signs and symptoms, and treatment.
