Are there any advantages to going to a state school with a medical school? If so, what are they? (This may seem like a stupid question, but in my world they dont exist :D)

well, if you are a resident in the state, you save A LOT of money on tuition.

Jon Davis-
What disadvantages are there?

There are many advantages including, but not limited to: relatively cheap tuition, continuity with the campus and community, and in some cases preferential treatment in the admissions process. The only disadvantage I can think of is that if you really don't like the town or campus you are going to be there for 8 years.
