Any chemistry majors here? I know this isn't really a 'pre-med' topic, but I couldn't find anywhere else to put it. If anyone can help solve this, Please!

"Determine the value of 'X' in the formula of the hydrate, ZnSO4.xH20, given that 1.450g of the hydrate produced 0.6539g of water when heated to form the anhydrous salt."

I really appreciate anybody helping me out, thanks alot!

The mass of the water (18 g/mole * x) divided by the mass of the hydrate (161.5 g/mole + 18 g/mole * x) must equal the mass of water to hydrate (0.6539/1.450).

Solve for x.

Good work mpp! I taught you well ;)
