What do you like most?
-
The student body is great & not competitive. Very supportive of one another
-
The professors, other students, and admin are super supportive and always willing to help out!
-
Staff, most of the faculty, facilities, the collaborative family like environment. No mandatory lectures (there are some occasional ones)
-
Nothing. Terrible institution.
-
Very few mandatory lectures
What do you like least?
-
The admin does not care about the students at all and are often times rude. They make huge changes with little/no notice and treat the students like children. They are extremely set in their old school ways and rarely if ever take into consideration student feedback. They offer academic support & tutoring, but its nearly impossible to get a meeting with academic support and most of the time they just talk to you about the same study strategies that you've heard before (not to mention the heavy turnover). They heavily decreased the number of tutors and tutoring sessions available. Very few physicians are professors and lectures are hit or miss. There's heavy turnover in almost every single department.
-
The campus in Knoxville is clearly an old business building, so its not very pretty and the study spaces are kind of odd/not ideal for 2 classes of DO students and all the PA students that study here.
-
They are working on improving communication from the deans to the students.
-
Corruption. LMU uses DO school to funnel money to administrators and their failing institution. Opened a new school while on heightened monitoring. Too few rotation spots for large number of students they accept. High attrition rate.
-
Core sites for 3rd & 4th year
What are the facilities and clinics like (old/new, well maintained, etc.)?
-
Anatomy lab is great, the building itself is an old office building that's pretty unwelcoming. Many study rooms are closing down and students have to get study rooms at a separate building off campus that is old and run down.
-
The Knoxville campus is very functional.
-
Knox is fully brand new
-
Just an undergrad building in the middle of nowhere
How do students from this program do after graduation - are they adequately prepared for practice?
-
Students often feel ill-prepared for boards & clinical rotations.
-
According to the match data, the majority of students end up where they want to be. No idea if they actually thrive or survive.
-
Yes
-
Don't know
-
They're successful despite the shortcomings of the clinical sites offered
What are rotations like?
-
Hit or miss. Only a few rotation sites within driving distance of the campus and the other sites are extremely spread out, many of them in extremely small & rural towns.
-
Not there yet

Any other information you want to share?
-
There is a lot of good at DCOM, the students and some of the professors are great, but there is a lot going on that would make me hesitant to apply.
-
Corrupt school, dishonest dean, was put on list for not meeting COCA standards.
-
Have no idea how our tuition money is utilized in 3rd & 4th year. It definitely doesn't go towards quality rotation sites
