What do you like most?

We have a pretty building.

The access to faculty is amazing. Our small group leaders range from deans of the university to chiefs of medicine and surgery. World-class surgeons volunteer their time to aid with anatomy lab, and lecturers are truly wonderful lecturers and experts in their fields. I also love how much focus OHSU places on training students to be good clinicians - good bedside manner and patient service are vital here.
What do you like least?

Leadership faculty has no desire to express any empathy regardless of your situation, if you have any troubles you face the axe. Instructors get away with major behavioral issues. Upon entering clinic you are thrown into the deep end with very little instruction and unclear guidelines on what must be completed. You also have your own assigned set of patients, so you may get lucky and get a lot of experience or you may get very little experience.
-
In some ways, the school lacks support from the administration. Students are responsible for personally handling more of their scheduling, international/rotation planning, and boards prep than at many other institutions.
What are the facilities and clinics like (old/new, well maintained, etc.)?

New, maintained clinics

How do students from this program do in the Match?
Any other information you want to share?
-
You can fail a 6 credit course by missing a single quiz. If you have any dreams of specializing this is not the school for you.

I couldn't ask for a better city to have as a backdrop for medical school. We have access to beaches, mountains, rural life, and city life all in a small radius.
Success!
