Some great professors and deans who are always willing to help a student in need. Linda Costanzo, physiology guru!

The clinical experience really is top notch. I was allowed to do things that students at other schools never got the chance. I did multiple paracenteses, I opened during surgical cases and even got to sew using the Da Vinci surgical robot.
What do you like least?

The curriculum office, and the tedious requirements throughout medical school.

Research ease

They fare well. The main match has not yet happened this year but the early match has. We have multiple matches to the most competitive specialties and one of my friends is doing her Urology at MGH (Harvard)

What are rotations like?
-
M3 rotations can mostly be done at MCV. There are a number of different services within each clerkship that you have options of requesting, so you can see something you may be particularly interested in. The VA is also a great educational resource

How do students from this program do in the Match?
Any other information you want to share?
-
-had a great time
-
The board prep is excellent.

I am currently interviewing for residency. I have double 99 (averaged over 250 on steps I and II) so I got interviews at competitive programs. i cannot tell you how many interviewers have never heard of VCU. I have to explain at every interview that I do not go to UVA. I would not go here unless you have no other options. I only applied to three medical schools, and ended up going here to save money on in-state tuition. Apply broadly. Good luck.
Success!
