Where did the interview take place?

How did you prepare for the interview?

I just read over what PBL is and read over interview feedback on SDN.

What impressed you positively?

How close all of the students are. Everyone is very happy to be there and is like a very close-knit family. Also, the PBL works as the students do very well on their boards.

What impressed you negatively?

Very expensive.

What did you wish you had known ahead of time?

How much traffic there would be at 7 in the morning on the 101. Ugghhh!

What are your general comments?

Overall it was a very positive experience. PBL is an interesting pedagogey and while it isn't for everyone, it does appear to make you more prepared for the real world. It was pretty interesting to go through an actual PBL case. I was hesitant at first, but left the interview with confidence that this form of teaching really works. Also, the students are eased into dental school and have a lot of free time the first year, which is nice.
