💬 Interview Questions

What was the most interesting question?

The school seems to be pleased with themselves that they do not do "interviews". Instead, they watch you in a group of about 10 people discuss a mock PBL case (unmedical related). I'm not sure how they can narrow down who they want to accept for students by just watching the group PBL case.

What was the most difficult question?

No questions were asked. At all. They know nothing more about you when you leave the school than what they knew before you got there. Except if you are shy or outgoing.

What impressed you positively?

I love the campus and the facilities are very nice. The financial aide session was very detailed and informative.

What impressed you negatively?

The woman facilitator who watched our group PBL case was rude and short with us. She seemed irritated that she had to do it, even though its been her job for 6 years. She seemed like she hated life and left a bad taste in my mouth! I don't feel like the school got a real sense of whether or not I was a good applicant just from the mock PBL case. You don't really have teachers. You rely more on the other students for help and information. There were about 30-35 people at the "information session"! That is way too many. Also, the day was about 8 hours long. Seriously. Also, there was one guy that the whole admissions staff seem to know already and gave special preferences and privilages to. It was strange and rude to the rest of the applicants, most of whom were dying to go to USC.

What did you wish you had known ahead of time?

Nothing, I went to SC so I knew a ton about the school already. Many of the applicants there with me that day had only gotten interviewed at this school so far and seemed somewhate desperate since they hadn't heard back from any other schools yet.

What are your general comments?

PBL is not for everyone, mostly for very independent and self-motivated learners. I love USC, but I really disliked this interview process.
