The facilities are really nice. Students are friendly and laid back. The first 2 years of school are relaxed and relatively stress-free. Each PBL group meets 3 times a week. The rest of the time is spent in clinical rotations or on independent research for your PBL case. Third and fourth years are like any other school where your days are spent in clinic. There is no class ranking and everyone has a high GPA since the lowest grade you can make in your PBL groups is a B. That, along with USC's prestige, provides lots of opportunities after graduation.
What impressed you negatively?
The cost of attendance, obviously. $312k for the 4 years of tuition, fees and living expenses.
What did you wish you had known ahead of time?
That traffic wasn't going to be bad driving to campus. I arrived an hour early from west LA. Also, a short 10-15 minute writing sample is required.
What are your general comments?
The day is long. Starts at 8:30 and lasts til 4:00, so eat breakfast and wear comfortable shoes. But since the day was so low-stress, it wasn't bad at all.
