💬 Interview Questions

What is one of the specific questions they asked you?

Where else are you interviewing...I answered honestly and still got an offer, but it was nerve-wracking

What was the most interesting question?

Probably just talking research with my POI because the match was amazing and we had a really great interview!

What was the most difficult question?

The professor had seen what other schools I was applying to and asked me about those schools and who I was applying to work with there.

How did you prepare for the interview?

I did a lot of research on the program because this was my number 1 going in. I had talked with a current grad student for months and knew the program really well!

What impressed you positively?

The people were a definite plus, I just felt comfortable there! The resources were amazing and the building was quite new so that was a big plus for me. I meshed research wise with the professors insanely well. I just can't say enough good things, it is the perfect program for me!

What impressed you negatively?

It wasn't a biggie but you have to interview with all the adult clinical faculty and most of the grad students so it is a LONG day. I am also not 100% sold on Morgantown, though it looks alright.

What did you wish you had known ahead of time?

Nothing, I knew the program inside and out before I went.

What are your general comments?

I had about 14 interviews, half hour ones at first and then 15 minute ones in the afternoon. We also received a tour of the building including the clinic and research labs. The night after the interview there was a huge party for the department with free alcohol (which I personally didn't touch). I at first thought this was a test to see if someone would get drunk, but I don't feel that way now as much. It was just a good way to meet the rest of the department. It was an amazing experience; by far the best interview I went on and I went on several!
