💬 Interview Questions
What is one of the specific questions they asked you?
USC's interview is somewhat different. Instead of having a one-on-one interview, 7-8 applicants are grouped together and they conduct a mock PBL session, where two faculty members are present and they evaluate your performance in the group.
The mock PBL session was very interesting and I enjoyed it very much.
What impressed you negatively?
1-The cost of attendance ~430,000$/4years!!!!!!!!
2-You're pretty much on your own under the PBL system. I prefer to have a defined schedule. That way I know what I'm supposed to do. Whereas, with PBL they give you a case and then you have to figure out how you wanna use your time to conduct research on the given topic.
What did you wish you had known ahead of time?
That the mock PBL session isn't really as stressful as some people make it sound.
What are your general comments?
I enjoyed my day at USC. Brian is such a cool guy and other staff are very friendly and helpful as well. The PBL session is very interesting because it gives you an idea of what you'll be doing for the next 4 years and how you'll be learning in a group setting.
