What was the most interesting question?
How would you respond if you were a pediatrician and the parents refused to vaccinate because they were afraid their child would become autistic?
How did you prepare for the interview?
SDN, brushing up on ethical issues, reading news, rereading AMCAS and secondary essays.
What was the most difficult question?
How would you respond if you were a pediatrician and the parents refused to vaccinate because they were afraid their child would become autistic?
What impressed you positively?
Everyone was very friendly, very laid-back and conversational. They genuinely want to get to know you better and not just to freak you out. There is a strong emphasis on producing great doctors, and most faculty are there because they WANT to teach/mentor, not just because teaching is part of the job description.
What impressed you negatively?
Nothing really. I really loved it!
What did you wish you had known ahead of time?
That some of the SDN feedback was (in my case) a bunch of hype. It was much less stressful than I had thought it would be.
