How was your interview day? Please summarize.:
Program paid for a 4.5 Star Hotel downtown + upscale dinner the night before the interview. Breakfast with Presentation by Dr. Kirsch. Then you will meet with Dr. Swide (PD) and Dr. Kirsch (Chairman) individually for about 15 minute each. Then you begin longer interview with two attendings. Should last anywhere from 30-45min each. Followed by tour and a catered lunch. Look, this is becoming the best program in the country if not already. Very hard working chairman who takes friday calls for the past 6 years. Also hired an education PhD on staff especially for that purpose! NO WEAKNESS IN NUMBER OF CASES. NO OFF SITE ROTATIONS. A very friendly yet inquisitive atmosphere here. An environment that foster discovery and citizenship. Residents are extremely happy. Plenty of grant money for research. 5 year review cycle granted by the ACGME (highest). Portland is the most intelligent, green, livable & beautiful city in the world in my opionion. You will not be disappointed here. I absolutely love OHSU. Would recommend doing an away rotation here to experience the QUALITY of teaching first hand. A MODEL FOR FUTURE ANESTHESIOLOGY RESIDENCY TRAINING PROGRAMS. Take a look into the OREGON SCHOLAR programs if you are interested in critical care or research! Report as inappropriate
