What impressed you positively?:

A number of things surprised me about OHSU. First, they have a world class facility with top notch faculty. Chair came from Hopkins and is really pro residents and education. Second, schedule seems to be well-balanced with a lot of good cases including cards, regional, and peds, which I was looking for in a program. Third, residents were super happy and excited to be at the program. Smaller program made for a close-knit group with a lot of comaraderie. It seemed like a really good group to be a part of. Portland...enough said. After interviewing at 10 other big midwest/west coast programs, I could not believe how competitive of a program OHSU has. It is a huge honor just to get an interview there. They are a top program that takes care of their residents. Report as inappropriate

What impressed you negatively?:

Can't think of anything. Report as inappropriate

How was your interview day? Please summarize.:

They wine and dine you. I think they put me up in the nicest hotel on the interview trail. Dinner at a classy restaurant with some of the residents. Next day, was laid back. Started out with intro from program director/chair. Then interviews that were friendly, yet informative. One with PD, other two with attendings. Then lunch with residents, and finally tour of the three hospitals, which are all located together up on a hill over looking Portland with a fabulous view of Mt. Hood. Of course they took us for a ride on the tram. You gotta love this program! Report as inappropriate
