School Info

The Appalachian College of Pharmacy is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and is the only three-year Doctor of Pharmacy program in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Therefore, our students graduate and enter the workforce one year earlier than graduates from a traditional four-year program and they do so with equivalent classroom hours and clinical training. Our students save one year of tuition and related expenses while earning income one year sooner, providing substantial monetary savings and a quality pharmacy education.

Curriculum

The Appalachian College of Pharmacy offers Virginia`s only three-year accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy Program, an innovative educational approach that saves students one year in tuition and related educational expenses and allows them to enter the job market a year before graduates from conventional four-year pharmacy schools.

Facilities

The 12,674 square feet facility accommodates the following areas: classrooms and lecture halls for a total of 170 students, a multipurpose laboratory facility, a library and learning resources center, a student lounge and game room, student government offices, a faculty conference room, a reception area, faculty and administrative offices, a faculty lounge and work room, and secured storage areas for computer hardware, chemicals, compounding materials and medication, and confidential information.

About the LizzyM Score

LizzyM, SDN Moderator and medical school admissions committee member, is the inventor of the LizzyM Score. The score allows you to see if you are a competitive applicant at a given school. If your LizzyM Score is far below or above the average, you may not be a good fit. If your score is far below, your application may be screened out due to numerical cutoffs. If it is far above, the school may assume they are your “safety” school and that you won’t attend if they offer an acceptance. This score should be used only as a guide to help you select schools and is not a guarantee of acceptance at any school. If you use this as your sole criteria to select medical schools to apply to, you don’t deserve to get in anyway.
