What is one of the specific questions they asked you (question 1)?

"Why do you want to study medicine, and why at the UW? Where do you see yourself in 10 years? The typical questions." Report Response | I was asked this question too

What is one of the specific questions they asked you (question 2)?

"Ethical question about end of life care and living wills." Report Response | I was asked this question too

What is one of the specific questions they asked you (question 3)?

"Why do you think it is that the U.S. is the only industrialized country to not have universal health care coverage? With that, who do you think has a longer life expectancy, Canadians or Americans?" Report Response | I was asked this question too

What was the most interesting question?

"Since you read Newsweek, and since 2005 is about to begin, if you were editor in chief of Time magazine, who or what do you think would be on the cover for Person/Event of the year for 2004?" Report Response | I was asked this question too

What was the most difficult question?

"Probably the same question because it came so far out of left field." Report Response | I was asked this question too

How did you prepare for the interview?

"Newsweek, msnbc.com, SDN, UW Bioethics website, Indian Health Services information, the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation website, mock interview, deep breaths..." Report Response

What impressed you positively?

"I don't know why, but I was surprised by how friendly everyone in the Admissions office was, and how conversational my interview felt. It went against all that I was warned about with the UW interview." Report Response

What impressed you negatively?

"My interview started late and went long. The lunch was so-so, and was served in a really cold room." Report Response

What did you wish you had known ahead of time?

"Specifically, how the interview room was arranged. I had envisioned a much more adversarial/interrogative setting much like a police station with the good cop/bad cop routine going on. It would have eased my mind greatly to know how comfortable the room actually is." Report Response

What are your general comments?

"Overall my interview experience was fairly pleasant. I felt that I did fairly well but not great. But, I have no frame of reference because it was my first interview. I'll find out in a week how well I actually did, but all in all it was less frightening than I expected, and as popular belief would indicate." Report Response
