"Good comraderie among residents as well as attendings.
Thought PD was focused on providing good educational experience and didactics.
Structured research experience. (seen as a negative by some as work in groups on pre-selected topics - not all residents were interested in research.)
Variety of hospital settings - good exposure to different types of practice.
Strong in outpatient/MSK and Pain.
Will be rotating at Rancho for TBI.
LA seems to have great weather and beautiful surroundings.
Residents report that if one is married - UCLA housing is a great option. (Less good if single.) "

"Residents seem to come to program because it is in LA not because they think it is a great program.
Question about strength of inpatient experience.
Driving to various sites in LA particularly Long Beach and Rancho time consuming. "

"Presentation by PD (along with croissants/coffee) about program. Interviews. One will be with PD or assistant PD. In between we could sit in outpatient clinic and talk to other attendings/residents. Then lunch/brief tour. Option of staying for didactics afterwards.
Well organized. "
