Biography: AcronymAllergy is a licensed psychologist and practicing clinical neuropsychologist with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). He completed his Ph.D. in clinical psychology, with a concentration in neuropsychology, at a large state university in the southern United States. He then completed his one-year, APA-accredited internship at a VA/Academic Medical Center consortium, and his two-year, APPCN- member fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at a large VA medical center. He is presently in the process of completing board certification in clinical neuropsychology through ABPP.

Biography: Dyachei is a small animal and exotics veterinarian running her own business. She graduated from the University of Tennessee’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011.

Biography: Jilary is a current veterinary student in the United States. Her main focus is small animals and exotic pets. She is a non-traditional student and received a BS and MS in biology prior to being accepted to vet school.

Biography: Mark-ER graduated from a liberal arts college in the Midwest and attended a top medical school there. After some waffling, he decided to ‘go behind the scenes’, to run a clinical lab and to do oncology/epidemiology research. However rather than the typical RO1 research university setting, he is at a non-profit research institute aligned with a mid-major teaching community hospital. He spends time teaching medical students and residents, managing a lab, writing grants and papers.

Biography: Emil Chuck, Ph.D., is director of admissions at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. Previously he has served as the Chief Health Professions Advisor and Term Assistant Professor of Biology and Bioengineering at George Mason University. He is a frequent contributor to Student Doctor Network and ADEA GoDental website in his focus on competency-based holistic admissions processes for entry to health professional programs. His prehealth roles also include contract employment with Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions as an instructor, student advisor, and admissions consultant. He is also active with online recruiting and outreach with frequent webchats for prospective applicants.

Biography: Neuronix is an MD/PhD radiation oncologist. He has laboratory experience in multiple laboratories at leading universities and within industry culminating in grant funding, submitted patents, and dozens of publications and presentations. Neuronix grew up in a disadvantaged background, leaving home and receiving his GED at age 16. After working in information technology, he switched paths and excelled within a pre-medical program including basic research. This led to the Medical Scientist Training Program (MD/PhD) at a leading university followed by clinical residency replete with clinical and translational research. Neuronix is currently academic faculty, balancing clinical practice with clinical and translational research. He is happy to answer questions regarding overcoming disadvantages, physician scientist opportunities, biomedical research, and radiation oncology.

Biography: Chivas Owle, PharmD, University of Florida College of Pharmacy, Class of 2013 currently works at CVS Pharmacy as an overnight staff pharmacist. His previous work history includes HealthSouth rehabilitation hospital, a private MTM company, and PIC for CVS.

Biography: Pacpod is a third year and chief resident in foot and ankle surgery at a university-based level I trauma center in the midwest. His interests include diabetic limb salvage/preservation, Charcot arthropahy, and functional limb preservation.

Biography: Pathdocmd graduated from Wofford College (Go Terriers!) with a BA in Art History and a BS in Biology. He applied to medical school and probably made every mistake you can during the process. Four years after graduating from college and having a mix of work experiences, additional course work, and finally figuring out the MCAT, he matriculated at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He is board certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Hematopathology. Half his time, at least on paper, is spent practicing hematopathology and being the medical director of the clinical flow cytometry lab and the other half is in medical school admissions.

She currently lives in Colorado with her husband and son, and enjoys traveling, hiking and running.

Biography: Spiralgalaxy is an occupational therapist with about a year and a half experience working with neurological and geriatric populations. She graduated from California State University, Dominguez Hills with a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy, and has since spent a majority of her time serving the geriatric population in a skilled nursing facility, but is soon to branch out to acute care. She is an advocate for her clients wherever she goes, and hopes to one day enter the non-profit sector.
