What impressed you positively?:
Beautiful new facilities, including NICU and PICU. PD very grandfatherly, seemed to care about program running smoothly, keeping residents happy, making sure residents exposed to specialty cases. Very varied patient population, lots of pathology. Faculty come from high-prestige places (Mt. Sinai, Columbia). Decent fellowship placements. Report as inappropriate
What impressed you negatively?:
Not enough focus on didactic education - "if you seek out [teaching], you'll get it" and "this is a program where you get out of it what you put in" = red flags for very little teaching. Board pass rate way below average - may be a function of language barrier for FMG residents or something else. Report as inappropriate
How was your interview day? Please summarize.:
A very nice day - relaxed and friendly, if a bit too long (9-3!) Since I'd like to stay in the NY-Metro area, definitely one to think about. Report as inappropriate
