What impressed you positively?:

Building new hospital (2010) for earthquake regulations. Should be quite nice, and is adjacent to current facility. Located in interesting neighborhood with lots of diversity and close to Hollywood. Stand-alone Children's hospital, but surrounded by Kaiser and other hospitals. Residents seemed quite happy, but hardworking. Morning report was VERY well attended by both house staff and faculty, and the discussion was lively and as fun as it could be. Program directors were exceedingly attentive to resident requests and seem to have a consistent pattern of making positive changes (improving call schedule, deleting poorly liked rotations, giving non-educational cases to ancillary staff, etc.). What impressed you negatively?:

Old facility not that nice. Cost of living is high, although hospital-subsidized apartment exists (cheap but not the nicest). Close to Hollywood, but not in Hollywood (a homeless individual took my chips as I was walking around). Report as inappropriate

How was your interview day? Please summarize.:

Decent length, very laid back interview. Met residents at social event the night before and there were a good number of them there. Fun place. Report as inappropriate
