What impressed you positively?:

Good exposure to most of the residents - they are all PGY-1 or PGY-2 at this new program. Comprehensive tour of the facilities provided. Met some attendings at lunch, very welcoming group, down-to-earth program. The residents here are really nice group, seemed very competent also. They get good training due to the location near Newark airport that brings in people from all over the world. Report as inappropriate

What impressed you negatively?:

High cost of living in Newark area. Paint peeling off walls in psychiatric hospital, remodeling ongoing but appears to being done piece-meal. Air of desperation in trying to attract quality applicants. Program director basically asked me to commit to the program during the interview. No fellowships available, wasn't given an impression that any are forthcoming any time soon. Report as inappropriate

How was your interview day? Please summarize.:

Facilities sub-par. A start up program in with an inner city urban feel. NJ highways are legendary. Education good, but you will work very hard here. If you want to be in the NJ-NY area maybe a last option. Report as inappropriate
