Friendly residents, positive atmosphere. Strong psychotherapy emphasis. Child fellowship, other fellowships available. Academically very strong, lots of support for research, presentations. Impressive vision for future of psychiatry from dept. chair. One interview was friendly psychodynamic/psychoanalytic session with director. Report as inappropriate
What impressed you negatively?:
Snowy, cold, upstate NY. Have to cover 3 hospital psych wards when on call, have to travel a block or two to each hospital outside in the cold in city of Syracuse. Group interview with one attending who gave group a vignette, putting applicants in direct competition. Busy call. Report as inappropriate
