What impressed you positively?:
Very laid back residents and attendings. Knoxville is a great town with lots to do and housing is very affordable. Residents are very happy to be there and many leave for a fellowship and then come back to UT as an attending. I think that if they offered moonlighting, this place would be a lot more attractive, although it is strong as it stands now. Report as inappropriate
What impressed you negatively?:
No moonlighting, residents put in pretty good number of hours compared to other programs. A couple of residents I interacted were boring and disinterested, but you will find this just about everywhere. Also, we never got a greeting when we arrived, just right into interviews. How was your interview day? Please summarize.:
Program pays for a very nice hotel and dinner at a nice restaurant the night before. Interviews immediately upon arrival, then a tour, then lunch with residents and chairman at another restaurant, then interview with chairman, then leave. A little different than the norm, but a nice interview day overall. All interviews were very benign and they really seemed to want to get to know you. Report as inappropriate
