Residents seem like a cohesive group and feel they are getting a good education; affordable resident apartments right next to hospital; hospital facilities are a little older but decent Report as inappropriate
What impressed you negatively?:
resident apartments definitely had a dorm feel- not great for families/couples; heavy emphasis on tertiary/quaternary care rather than bread and butter peds; don't really like LA that much and especially not the area the hospital is in; residents acknowledged that they are worked very hard Report as inappropriate
How was your interview day? Please summarize.:
You will hear over and over again from residents, faculty, etc. here that this is a program where "you learn by doing," which is code for "you will work your a** off here and not have time to read." I think this program would be a good fit for someone who is 1.) single; 2.) certain they want to sub-specialize; and 3.) doesn't mind/wants to work really, really hard during their residency because they believe that is the only way they will learn.
