What impressed you positively?:

PD knew about every applicant's research/experience prior to the introduction section and asked us about it that morning. A Chief Resident for the Day is assigned to the interview group and gives the tours, coordinates the lunch, etc. Ours was very helpful. The Sheppard-Pratt hospital is top notch, beautiful and the faculty there seemed very approachable. Other residents seemed very happy there. IM months are held at a hospital that only has preliminary IM residents so Psych residents feel more accepted and part of the team. Questions were low-stress. Very family friendly program. What impressed you negatively?:

Not much. The in-patient psych units at U Maryland seemed pretty run down. Some people don't like Baltimore, but I always found it eclectically appealing. I would have liked to have one more interview, two seems a little thin. Report as inappropriate

How was your interview day? Please summarize.:

Light breakfast at 7:45 (eat at home too as lunch isn't served until 1pm after a long tour of S-P). Introductions by program director and Chair. Two interviews back-to-back. Then off to tour S-P and get an overview of your 4 years. Back to UMaryland for lunch with residents. Then tour of U Maryland. Then each applicant has a 5 minute wrap-up interview with the PD. Day ends at about 3:15. Report as inappropriate
