What impressed you positively?:

Best and favorite program. I rotated here as M4. If you want to do outpatient, msk, sports medicine, pain, neurorehabliation (TBI or SCI) great place to go. Frankly, the best in MSK for PM&R IMHO. Consistently Top 5 for all programs. Best EMG/Nerve Conduction Study training in country because train with Neuro attendings and PM&R combined. Also, Pain medicine training with both anesthesia and PM&R pain docs. You also get to go to Mayo Jacksonville and Phoenix during residency for free. Again, great reputation/name, great outpatient MSK/Pain exposure, well-balances exposure to all of PM&R. http://www.mayo.edu/msgme/physmed-rch-application.html Report as inappropriate

What impressed you negatively?:

Not the best if you want to do Peds (came straight from residents)....although getting better and have a Peds PM&R residency now. Many people will tell you not to come here if you are single and the location sucks...but its Mayo. One of the Top hospitals/medical centers in the world and top 5 in PM&R. It is close to Twin cities which makes up for the rural location...Mayo Fellows Association treats residents liek kings/queens so allows for plenty of stuff to do locally and in Minny/st. paul. You can do anything from here but obviously MSK, Sports, EMG, and Pain/Spine/Interventional are the strengths. That said top 10 inpatient rehab hospital year in and year out so you can do inpatient from here and its very good. Report as inappropriate

How was your interview day? Please summarize.:

Great. Free 4 start hotel. Nice 4-5 star dinner. relzzed interview. Everyone is very friendly and humble despite the stellar reputation of Mayo and the PM&R program. They let you know what they are good at and do not sugar coat what they are not. Report as inappropriate
