"Friendly and collaborative environment, innovative and dynamic curriculum."
"The curriculum is innovative"
"Curriculum design is dynamic and innovative, ensuring students get exposure to all pertinent systems twice in a step-wise fashion. There is camaraderie between faculty and students that is friendly, cordial , and nurturing."
"The curriculum is very strong. This is a good school to learn in and become a great physician."
"The class shares a lot of stuff with each other. The current president/CEO/chair of board (Dr. Weaver) has an open door policy. Anyone can go in and talk with him. It's great. I also love the cafeteria food. Certain professors (Dr. Johnston & Friedlander) are so awesome intelligent that it blows your mind. Some of our professors actually write the questions for the boards. Score 1 and the other community projects are great learning experiences. You learn how to do exams and apply it in the real world soon (first few months of med school)."
"The atmosphere. It's the students who go here that make me LOVE this school. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Second years go out of their way to tutor the first years and third years even come into class when they can to give us heads up on boards."
"Nothing."
"The osteopathic portion of the education is undergoing many changes and frankly we don't get a great understanding of the material and our test do not represent what we were taught"
"Clinical rotations are quite variable in terms of types of exposure, availability of didactics, and scheduling. These inconsistencies are concerning."
"I did not like that the grades are all distributed on a bell curve and also that there has been a lot of faculty turnover and the students are not told the reasons why."
"Some of the professors are really busy."
"The administration is very badly organized. Each branch of the admin doesn't really communicate with the rest and that makes dealing with them a big pain. they don't get information about rotations or other big events out until the day before which is always irritating."
"Good place to get a strong education and do well on both the COMLEX and USMLE. Most students at KCUMB to into alliopathic residencies but many also go in to very competitive osteopathic residencies."
"I love how the unofficial dorms (Century Towers) is right across from the school. The current president is working really hard to maintain our tuition or decrease the tuition."
"The systems based curriculum makes understanding the information presented a little more manageable (which in med school is saying a lot). I can't imagine doing it any other way. The teachers are also here for the students and you can tell they actually care about teaching! The school also claims to be very traditional as far as a dress code and mandatory class attendance, but in reality they don't enforce any of it except no jeans. It makes life much easier and i know plenty of kids who don't go to class at all."

"1st year: Costanzo Physiology, Panini's Medical Biochemistry, BRS Physiology End of 1st year: Big Robbins (will be tested directly from it), Clinical Micro Made Ridiculously Simply (will be tested directly from it). 2nd year: Big Robbins, Pathoma, BRS Physio"

"Only board study books and Netter. All the rest of the information is provided in printed handouts made by teachers."
"Any anatomy book."
"Almost all."
"Don't buy anything else until you get here and have been here for a bit. You can buy stuff off of 2nd+ years. Most of the required texts are provided for you online for free to you. There are the books on reserve and certain pages that you need for things are available for copying in the library."
"All of them."
"Clinical curriculum in 3rd/4th year have specific honors track in FM, OB Gyn, IM, Surgery, Ortho, EM, and Behavioral Health/Psych that are honed in to provide specific didactic exposure, additional training, and secured electives for that specialty."
"All osteopathic schools promote primary care medicine but KCUMB does much less than most others. We place many students into primary care and specialties."
"No. It is very open to all specialties."

"We have fake on-campus housing. It's actually off-campus housing (Century Towers) where more than 50% of the pre-clinical year students live. It has a dorm-esque feeling to it."
"There isn't a place on-campus but there is a med student apt building across the street that over half the class lives in. I consider it on-cmapus. I highly recommend it. It has 1 & 2 bed available and very cheap utilities. it is a very dorm-like experience. Lots of fun."

"1st year - many PhD's and a few MD/PhD's that teach the basic sciences. Near the end there is initial exposure to a variety of pathologists and microbiologist who teach a M1-M2 transition block"
"Most are good, some are exceptional, others are bad. There is a large variety of different faculty members and lectures so there is a wide mix."
"Seems decent so far (7 months into med school)"
"Good. They all want to be teaching and they care about it. There a few boring/dry profs but there are also exciting/hilarious profs as well. I think its a great balance."

"Scheduling is determined by a site coordinator."
"Scheduled by the site coordinator and the school."
"You choose your top 3 locations. They run it thru a compuer."
"2 family med, 2 IM, 2 Surgery, Peds, psych, rural med/international med, cardiology, ER, OB/GYN The order is determined by which site you go to. You choose your site by entering a lottery match your second year when you put in your top 3 choices and the school tries to "match" you to your choices. This is done using a computer program. They try to "match" the top choices of the most students possible. They usually get about 70% of the class at their first choice."

"Due to the schools vicinity near Childrens Mercy Hospital as well as the integration of a Score 1 (pediatric screening in underserved areas) many go into pediatrics. There is also a niche for orthopedic surgery due to a strong affiliation with an ortho residency in Blue Springs, MO"
"Very strong in pathology. Also strong in anatomy and probably general medicine."
"I am not aware of this"
"Of the residency programs that have current KCU grads in them, I believe these PD's see the graduates in a positive light."
"Well thought of and students do well in rotations and getting the residencies of their choice."
"No idea."
