"Block exam schedule, pass/fail for the first year, lots of help from the school for you to succeed in your classes, lots of extracurricular activities and summer opportunities to get involved in including out-of-country experiences, public health important in the curriculum, lots of integration between courses to tie everything together, M1 professors are very passionate about teaching, WARM track for those interested in rural medicine, TRIUMPH track for those interested in urban medicine, dual degrees offered, lots of research opportunities, lots of opportunities to do away rotations in 3rd/4th year throughout the state and in other states." | Report Response

"No track for those interested in education, pretty much 0 official opportunities to be involved in/learn about education especially during M1-M2, unofficial opportunities are hard to find. Being that the school is continuing with the curriculum overhaul they started several years ago (which is overall going very well) I would thought that more of these education-type opportunities would be available. "I was told by a residency director that they'd rather take students from schools like UW than Ivy League schools because we're SO much better trained on physical exam, plus clinical flexibility and hard work. An Ivy league friend agreed- I've done 10x more procedures already as a 4th year student, he had never even sutured by himself by his intern year. That may be anecdotal, but stuff like that REALLY matters by the end of med school and looking at residencies. Overall, you get a superb training you can really be proud of. Plus, the Badgers rock! :)" | Report Response
