How did you prepare for the interview?

"JHMI Web site, this Web site, re-read my applications" Report Response

What impressed you positively?

"Amazing, friendly people; amazing resources--top researchers in every clinical, scientific, and policy field are delighted to find med students interested in their area; quality of hospital and diversity of caseload; gave Reid Hall guests free pass to gym" Report Response

What impressed you negatively?

"Surrounding neighborhood is sketchy, but the security of the campus is very good, and at any rate, it provides an opportunity to practice urban medicine." Report Response

What did you wish you had known ahead of time?

"I knew this ahead of time, fortunately (from the general JHU Web site, not the JHMI information): If you have time, take the light rail from the airport to Penn station, and catch the shuttle (free) or taxi ($5) from there. Much cheaper ($1.35) than a cab from the airport." Report Response

What are your general comments?

"The rumors of hypercompetitiveness among the students appear to be bogus--why should they compete with each other when 95% of them get their 1st or 2nd choice of residency? The "competitive mingling" everyone worries about isn't that big a deal. If you are competent in social situations with strangers, you will be fine." Report Response
