What is one of the specific questions they asked you (question 1)?

"Why DO and why UMDNJ? If you weren't accepted this year, what would you do? What other schools did you apply too?" Report Response

What is one of the specific questions they asked you (question 2)?

"Each interviewer asked what I did in two separate volunteer experiences." Report Response

What is one of the specific questions they asked you (question 3)?

"Was this the only interview you came into town for and have you had other interviews yet?" Report Response

What was the most interesting question?

"None. All questions were bland with no real fore-thought necesary in answering. I will list virtually all the questions they asked in the interview questions section." Report Response

What was the most difficult question?

"You have an extensive history of research experiences, which was your favorite and why?" Report Response

How did you prepare for the interview?

"Read up on the history of Osteopathic medicine via the KCOM website. Wrote down questions I was interested in asking." Report Response

What impressed you positively?

"The diversity of the student body was amazing, with almost 50% of the class under-represented minorities. Most of the students seemed to enjoy the school and all of the faculty and employees I ran across were very friendly. The small class size leads to a greater number of students working together rather than competing with each other. There was a real sense of family there." Report Response

What impressed you negatively?

"Very small campus with only five buildings and the libaray was very small. I spoke with one student who would have rather gone to Allopathic school and only went to UMDNJ because he wasn't taken off the waitlist at two of the other schools. However, I wouldn't base my decision on one begrudged students opinions." Report Response

What did you wish you had known ahead of time?

"That they were going to ask so few questions. There are three child prodigies attending the school. Two twins and their brother started at 16 and 17 years old respectively." Report Response

What are your general comments?

"I really liked the small class size and parts of south Jersey are really nice. I would advise driving (~20min) to Atsion just SW of the campus down RT.30 and viewing the natural area and lake with cabins. Both of my interviewers (one DO and one MS III) were very friendly and just wanted to get to know me. Once you are given an interview you have about a 30% chance of acceptance. Most people are either accepted or placed on a waiting list after their interview. You would really have to screw the interview up to receive a rejection letter right after the interview. Because our interviews were in the morning, the student tour guide had ample time to show us around campus and was extremely thorough." Report Response
