What impressed you positively?

"Everything else. the students there seem incredibly happy, the faculty love temple students, despite being in a bad neighborhood (which is actually good for a medical school), the school's rapport with the surrounding area is very good (they provide around $80 million of free services a year), the students all work together and do not try to outcompete one another. What impressed you negatively?

"Not much. only that the medical school facilities are not top notch. " Report Response

What did you wish you had known ahead of time?

"There are no supermarkets along broad st. " Report Response

What are your general comments?

"This was my first interview, but i really liked and respected the people at Temple. The administration emphasizes that stressful interviews do not bring out the true character in people and they are consistent with this sentiment. the interview is very much like a conversation. Also, its nice to know that all the inteviewers serve on the admissions committee. So when they make the final decision, then someone who has actually spoken to you is speaking for you. The school is sort of a commuter school which has its advantages and disadvantages. The area surrounding the school is simply too dangerous, which is good for teaching, but not for living. However, the students live in the same neighborhood, so they have the opportunity to hang out with one another and they are very close. One last thing which might please you. They make their final decision within a couple of weeks. " Report Response
