"Student: very laid back. What do you like to do for fun? What kind of clubs were you involved in at school? " Report Response | I was asked this question too
"Dean: Why Pitt? Where else have you applied? How do you like Pittsburgh? If you have the opportunity, drive around the day before. That way you have something to talk about. I went to the Waterfront, a shopping area with lots of restaruants. Everyone knows about it, so it's really easy to talk about it. The dean, like everyone else, is really nice. " Report Response | I was asked this question too
"Faculty: Why did you include x in your personal statement? How do you feel about Academic medicine? " Report Response | I was asked this question too
"What's your favorite movie, book, cartoon?" Report Response | I was asked this question too
"How do you feel about academic medicine? (Research, basically) Even if you haven't done any research you will have to do some clinical research while at Pitt. Just keep that in mind. " Report Response | I was asked this question too
"SDN, Pitt website, USA Today, mock interviews" Report Response
"Everyone was very nice. The WISER center, which is their simulation lab, was AMAZING. The students were really nice and helpful, even if the ones that weren't part of the tour. One student offered to walk me to my interview site. " Report Response
"Honestly, nothing. The only thing I can come up with is it's cold & there are a lot of hills. But honestly, those weren't big deals. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES!!" Report Response
"Nothing really. The new things that I learned, such as the WISER center & various clinics, just made me even more excited about the school. " Report Response
"Ok, so normally you would have 3 interviews: One with a student (45-60min), one with a faculty member (45-60min), and one with the dean of admissions (10-15min). My 4th was with the director for Minority Affairs (20-30min). So, if you're not a minority, you don't have to worry. Everyone was very nice & they really just wanted to get to know me as a person. They didn't even mention grades or test scores. Make sure you have questions for them also. And specific ones for each person. They really want you to ask questions. " Report Response
