"Mock interviews, research the school as much as possible. They do not give much info on interview day." Report Response
"Updated clinics and early clinical experience." Report Response
"The interview group really is huge, and they led us into a classroom to sit and wait for interviews and tours. While we waited, a couple faculty and D2-D3 students circulated the room to answer questions. There was no streamlined presentation of the school's program, outline of the four years, or anything. By the end of the day I knew nothing more about this school than what I had researched. If you are not from the Oklahoma/midwestern/southern region of the US, be prepared for the culture shift. I underestimated how out of place I would feel here, being from the west coast. My interview was with an older faculty member and a practicing dentist. The faculty member was generally nice, but had this aggressive interview style that kept me on the defense. Halfway through he seemed to make up his mind about me and proceeded to just casually talk. Here there were a couple statements that stood out to me as strange: He said he doesn't believe students should be able to give feedback on their curriculum or professors because "they are students and do not know what makes a successful dental program." He reminisced about the hard 1970's style of teaching dentistry, back when he was in school. He even warned that my marriage may not endure the rigors of dental school. I just found the whole experience to be strange." Report Response
"Research as much as possible about this school before the interview. Go on forums, find anything." Report Response
"I think your experience with this school depends on what region of the US you are from. If you are from the west coast, this may not be the place for you lol." Report Response
