Urology is a surgical subspecialty concerned with the medical and surgical treatment of disorders and diseases of the female urinary tract and male urogenital tract. Urologists are involved with problems of the kidney, ureters, bladder, prostate, urethra, and male genital structure. Often the urologist and nephrologist coordinate their efforts in treating patients with kidney disease.
