Applicants commonly prepared for the interview by researching extensively through sources like the AUC website, webinars, online forums, and talking to current or former students for insights. They also emphasized the importance of reviewing their application thoroughly to be well-prepared.
Reading SDN, AUCMED.edu, talking to a close friend that is a second term student and reading several blogs from current and former AUC students.
Applicants were positively impressed by the rigorous and detailed interview process at AUC, contrary to their initial expectations. Additionally, the friendliness of the staff and the beautiful, beach-adjacent campus were highlighted as positive aspects by multiple applicants.
I had heard a lot of negative info about AUC being a for-profit school so I didn't expect a serious interview. I was surprised in that the interview was rigorous, in depth, and quiet detailed.
Applicants commonly expressed negative impressions related to unprofessionalism or lack of promptness in communication from staff, particularly during the interview process. Additionally, the lack of adequate on-campus study spaces was a recurring concern among applicants. Suggestions include improving staff professionalism and communication, as well as enhancing on-campus study facilities.
I interviewed at the Devry facility in Sherman Oaks. The admin assistant was a bit unprofessional in her demeanor and was not prompt with notifying my interviewer that I had arrived. Interview was at 12 and the interviewer wasn't notified till 11:58.
Many applicants wished they had known to allow extra time for parking and validation in Sherman Oaks, as well as to be prepared for challenges with phone interviews such as interpreting body language cues and handling potential technical issues.
Nothing but make sure that you give yourself plenty of time to arrive and find parking if you interview in Sherman Oaks. Also, make sure to get your parking ticket validated; parking is $1.80 every 15 minutes!!!
I had a phone interview and didn't have experience with that before. Not being able to see body language is difficult and there were a few long pauses... one time I thought I lost the call, but fortunately I didn't!
Applicants generally reported positive and laid-back interview experiences with a focus on being prepared for regular interview questions and demonstrating knowledge about the school. They also mentioned the industrialized nature of the island and the distinguished professors from various medical schools.
They were regular interview questions... if it's a phone interview and there is a pause just wait it through because he asks another question, he may be scanning your application in the meantime to see what to ask about. Know about the school and have questions to ask the interviewer.
It was a great trip. The island is more industrialized than I thought. You can find any US product there. The professors are from distinguished medical schools from all over the US.
What are your suggestions for the admissions office?
Applicants overwhelmingly praised the admissions office for their prompt and courteous attention, especially highlighting the positive experience during interviews with staff members like Ms. Miller and Ms. Higgs.
My interview was awesome and I appreciate the prompt and courteous attention that Ms. Miller, Ms. Higgs and all of the AUC staff have given me.
