Students attend externships outside of their programs, there are over 300 opportunities in NYC so I cannot speak to all of them.

From John Jay, about 75% go onto licensure and the majority have academic or institutional careers.

What are rotations like?

For John Jay, during year one you start clinical work in house for 2.5 hours per week at the John Jay Counseling Center. In years 2-5 you apply to externships around NYC and NJ. There are 300+ externships to apply to so you can specialize in pretty much any setting and with any populaiton you want. You have a different externship each year and must complete a minimum of 3 year-long placements before applying to Internship.
