✅ Interview Preparation and Impressions

How is the friendliness of the admissions office?

No responses

How is the responsiveness of the admissions office?

No responses

How did you prepare for the interview?

Read up on my POI, the lab with which I was interviewing, and the program.

What impressed you positively?

The area, the friendly and genuine graduate students, my POI.

What impressed you negatively?

There honestly wasn't anything.

What did you wish you had known ahead of time?

The only thing I wish I would have known was the final outcome... and that it wouldn't work out in my favor. But that's just being ridiculous. :)

What are your general comments?

I arrived the night before the interviews. A current student picked me up and I stayed at her house. She was very helpful and gave me a number of invaluable tips for the people I would meet. Interviews ran all day for two days, totaling 15 interviews in all. I met with my POI first and last and really felt as though I got all of my questions answered. Meeting so many people was exhausting, but it really helped to provide a more complete picture of the entire program.

What are your suggestions for the admissions office?
