School Info

Hope Medical Institute is an international institute maintaining affiliations and cooperative working relationships with schools of medicine throughout the world. These institutions are among the world’s finest and best known medical universities with many years of history and tradition. During their long years of service, they have trained thousands of international students. They offer programs which are accredited and lead to licensing to practice medicine in the United States and Canada. All are recognized and listed by the World Health Organization (WHO), fully accredited and participate in guaranteed student loan programs managed and monitored by the US Department of Education. The courses are taught in the English language in a cordial environment. The tradition of HMI's affiliated institutions is to have small classes providing the personalized education and training needed to prepare students to become good physicians.

The European medical schools affiliated with Hope Medical Institute offer five distinct English language M.D. Programs and advanced standing for qualified students wishing to transfer from accredited and recognized medical schools. After some study abroad, students are qualified for transfer with advanced standing to American and Canadian medical schools. They also qualify to take the USMLE Step 1 & Step II board examinations and, in most cases, qualify to apply for federally funded grants and loans.

"Most classes were taught poorly." | Report Response

"- cost - lack of guidance - must learn everything on your own - out of usa - rotations are scattered throughout usa - calling, emailing, etc the office to ask for help is useless. they almost never answer/reply because (so says the phone answering monkeys) they are busy in a "meeting" - school doesnt pay doctors for teaching us during rotations in a timely manner, so the drs either quit teaching or quit accepting students - school doesnt pay hospitals in a timely manner for rotations either - we've been dropped from hospitals as well" | Report Response

About the LizzyM Score

LizzyM, SDN Moderator and medical school admissions committee member, is the inventor of the LizzyM Score. The score allows you to see if you are a competitive applicant at a given school. If your LizzyM Score is far below or above the average, you may not be a good fit. If your score is far below, your application may be screened out due to numerical cutoffs. If it is far above, the school may assume they are your “safety” school and that you won’t attend if they offer an acceptance. This score should be used only as a guide to help you select schools and is not a guarantee of acceptance at any school. If you use this as your sole criteria to select medical schools to apply to, you don’t deserve to get in anyway.

About the SDN Ranking

SDN Ranking identifies how SDN members perceive the quality of a school relative to other schools of the same type (e.g., other Medical Schools, other Dental schools, etc.). Schools are ranked from 1, perceived as much worse than other schools, to 5, perceived as much better than other schools.
