Recently, Joe went through a divorce and won custody of the dog. He comes to you and wants you to put him down because when he sees the dog, he remebers all of the times with his ex-wife. Applicants commonly prepared for the interview by utilizing online resources like SDN, Reddit, and YouTube, seeking advice from advisors, speaking with current students, conducting mock interviews, reviewing sample questions, and practicing with interview questions specific to the institution. Many found value in researching the program's website and seeking insights from others who had gone through the interview process.
Applicants were overwhelmingly impressed by the welcoming and friendly atmosphere of the program, emphasizing the positive interactions with both students and faculty. They appreciated the personalized approach, the sense of community, and the ample opportunities for hands-on experience and mentorship within the program.
How welcoming and nice everyone was. They gave me positive feedback and really just talked about my application a little and laughed a lot
The students and faculty are SOOO friendly and welcoming. I love the family type atmosphere. You get an opportunity for a lot hands on experience. My interviewers were AWESOME!! They made me feel at ease and were real and not pretentious.
That they have a developed research facility. That all of the students were open and friendly, we waited in a common area and students came in and introduced themselves and talked to us in between their classes. All students get mentors or "BIGs". You go into clinics in your 3rd yr.
Applicants commonly expressed concerns about the surroundings, such as the location being hard to find, construction noise, or dilapidated areas. Some also mentioned issues with the facilities, such as cleanliness and maintenance problems. Suggestions included providing more detailed and thorough information, improving the physical environment, and addressing any service-related issues.
Nothing. They were on time and friendly. I wish it was long almost and maybe more in depth for me at least.
Nothing really. The surrounding area is kind of dilapidated, but that's just Southern Alabama (no offense!)
The water in the shower at the hotel would stand and not go down the drain. The wallpaper was coming down in the bathroom. The carpet in the room was stained up and felt really dirty. The chairs were covered with brown stains. the food in the cafe was good, but service was slow and would disappear, but they were friendly. On a positive note, their was a pillowtop mattress that was really comfortable and I slept well. I guess that's what really counts.
TU is in the center of a very rural town. Many student's live in Auburn and commute to the vet school. 15-30 minute drive depending on where your coming from.
Applicants commonly wished they had known more about their application and its potential discussion points, had the opportunity to talk to current students, and were aware of the relaxed nature of the interview process. Additionally, some expressed surprise about the rural setting and safety concerns of the surrounding area.
Know every about your application - you’ll be surprised at what may interest them about tou(they asked me about why I became a CNA)
Applicants generally found the interview experience to be welcoming and relaxed, with positive interactions with interviewers and a friendly campus atmosphere. They appreciated the focus on personal conversations and support for financial considerations, while also noting the school's emphasis on surgical experience.
This interview was really relaxing and the 2 docs that interviewed me were sooo nice. I am genuinely not exaggerating about how welcoming they make you feel. The nerves go away!!!
The people that attend TU are ridiculously courteous and wholesomely gracious people. Just a note they do a substantial amount of terminal surgeries during their third years, however this does enable them to come out of vet school as stronger surgeons
The interview was great. We had a conversation the ENTIRE hour and 15 minutes. I was only asked like 3 typical interview questions. We mostly talked about my life, horses, and food animals. We then talked about the curriculum and about how I needed to look for scholarships and loans. They are really proactive about you getting accepted. i believe that they want to help you with getting your ducks in a row when it comes to finding money and a place to live.
Campus is beautiful. Unlike some things that I have heard about the school before, the campus is a Historical site and so the historical buildings are still there and just a beautiful campus.
