"Clinical rotations are scheduled with a computerized lottery system. Students are given a time to sign up for rotations using an online system. We sign up for 12 months at a time. Required rotations: Family (8 weeks), IM (8 weeks), Surgery (8 weeks), Peds (8 weeks), Ob/Gyn (8 weeks), Psych (4 weeks) and Neuro (4 weeks)" | Report Response

What responsibility do med students have on the wards?

"Medical students typically have 3-4 patients on IM, Peds, Psych, Neuro, and Family. They function as part of the team by seeing their patients each morning and writing notes, helping admit pts from the ER, following up on test results, etc. On surgery students are expected to scrub in on all surgeries, take an active role in the trauma bay, suture lacerations, etc. On Ob/Gyn students are expected to participate on L&D (deliver babies, scrub all c-sections, assess patients in triage), scrub gyn cases, actively participate in gyn onc, and see patients in both OB and Gyn clinics (supervised by residents and faculty)." | Report Response
