School is new so the facilities and equipment are newer.
Applicants commonly expressed concerns about the external rotations, weather, campus location, curriculum structure focusing on one subject at a time, and sporadic exam schedules. Curriculum. Students described it as 100% one subject at a time. Studied everything about "chemistry" (example) 8hrs a day until completion and then took an exam. Exam schedule is very sporadic because of this due to some subjects being shorter than others. They said that sometimes you could have one exam and then another on a completely new subject 2 days later.
Applicants commonly wished they had known to relax and not stress about the interview, to visit the school in advance to familiarize themselves with the area, and to be aware of the relocation of dental students during their third and fourth years.
To chill a little and donโt stress about the interview
Make sure you see if you can visit the school a day in advance since there's a lot of alley roads you might have to take to get there and it's best if you know where you'll be going a head of time
Applicants commonly mentioned concerns about relocating during their education, preferring a more local option. They also emphasized the importance of showcasing their personality during the interview process.
The interview is very laid back, I had an interview with someone, and then another interview with someone via skype. Not a huge fan of having to move to Saint Louis half way through my education (I have a family)
What are your suggestions for the admissions office?
Applicants commonly suggested providing more detailed information about the class curriculum and sending follow-up emails thanking them for their time.
I wouldโve appreciated more specific information about the actual class curriculum. I felt the given info was too general.
