How did you prepare for the interview?
Applicants commonly prepared for the interview by conducting online research, reviewing school websites, seeking advice from mentors, and studying sample interview questions. They also focused on understanding the organization's background and mission to be well-informed during the interview.
Researched online, looked at school website, asked my mentor questions.
Applicants were impressed by the friendly and welcoming demeanor of the staff, which helped create a comfortable and positive experience. However, some applicants did not find anything particularly impressive.
Applicants commonly expressed negative impressions of rude or overly aggressive panel members, who belittled them during the interview process. They suggested that while some pressure to assess their responses is expected, a more respectful and professional approach should be maintained.
The panel I had was not great. Specifically, there was one very rude panel remember who would raise her voice at me and belittle me. I get that they want someone to put pressure on you to see how you handle it but I think she went very over the top.
Applicants commonly wish they had known ahead of time about the intensity of the panel interview process and the specific expectations related to their field of study or background. They suggest being prepared for different panels and understanding the specific requirements or knowledge areas that may be advantageous for success in the selection process.
I wish I had known it would be so intense. Everyone says the panel is so friendly and makes you feel comfortable, but what I didnโt know is that there are two separate panels. As luck goes I didnโt get the friendly one that everyone had been raving about. I also wish I knew more about Ag. Being a UofR student and being a part of the SK pool, they expected me to know so much about agriculture when UofR doesnโt have any ag classes. I feel it was very unfair and probably mostly USask students are successful over Regina students for the 20 SK spots.
Applicants commonly expressed disappointment with the interview process, particularly citing negative experiences with panel members. They highlighted the importance of maintaining professionalism and respect during interviews to ensure a fair and positive experience for all candidates.
I wasnโt thrilled with how the interview went. All of that aside I feel the one panel member destroyed my chances of a good interview. Being a vet, I know I would face difficult clients and have issues many days. But I wasnโt expecting to have a panel member attack me so I was a little shocked and I feel like that made the last 35 minutes of my interview just continue roll downhill at full speed.
