Established in 1811, The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University is the third-oldest medical school in New England. After a period of suspension in the 19th century, the medical program was re-established in 1972 and has since evolved into a leading institution for medical education. The Warren Alpert Medical School offers a competency-based curriculum designed to integrate medical knowledge with clinical practice. The pre-clerkship phase spans 17 months and includes the Integrated Medical Sciences (IMS) courses, which cover subjects such as anatomy, histology, genetics, physiology, pathophysiology, pathology, and pharmacology .
