Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) established an additional location, DCOM at LMU-Knoxville, at 9737 Cogdill Road, Knoxville, Tennessee. The inaugural class of 125 osteopathic medical students commenced in the fall of 2019. This expansion aligns with LMU-DCOM's mission to place primary care physicians in Appalachia and surrounding areas. The Knoxville location offers the same four-year, full-time academic and clinical program as the Harrogate campus, granting the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.

Curriculum

The curriculum at DCOM at LMU-Knoxville is a four-year, full-time academic and clinical program leading to the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree. It emphasizes the interdependence of biological, clinical, behavioral, and social sciences, focusing on educating physicians for primary care medicine. The program is divided into two phases: Pre-clinical Sciences (Years 1 and 2) and Clinical Experiences (Years 3 and 4). This structure ensures that students integrate basic and clinical sciences effectively in medical practice.

Facilities

In 2017, LMU acquired an 11-acre property in West Knoxville and renovated two existing buildings into state-of-the-art facilities for the DCOM program. The main academic building spans over 110,000 square feet and includes two auditoriums (seating 320 and 360), twenty-six mock clinical exam rooms, two pod gross anatomy labs, eight high-fidelity simulation labs, and a classroom equipped with 40 osteopathic manipulation tables. These facilities are designed to support the academic and clinical skills training of osteopathic medical students.
