Louisiana Tech University offers a Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program through its School of Communication Sciences and Disorders, one of only two such programs in Louisiana. The program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. The mission of the Au.D. program is to prepare students for professional practice by providing a comprehensive academic and clinical foundation.
The Au.D. curriculum is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for entry into professional practice, consistent with the scope of practice and standards of ethical conduct for audiologists. It includes academic coursework and clinical practicum experiences that meet the nationally recognized standards for certification as an audiologist.
The program is housed in Robinson Hall, which includes the Speech and Hearing Center, providing students with access to state-of-the-art diagnostic and rehabilitative audiological clinical services. This facility allows students to gain hands-on experience in evaluating, treating, and preventing communication and swallowing disorders for individuals of different ages, cultures, and backgrounds in a variety of clinical settings.
In the 2020-2021 academic year, 47 students earned a bachelor's degree in audiology from Louisiana Tech, with 100% of these graduates being women. Approximately 89% of these graduates were white, 4% were Black or African American, 2% were Hispanic or Latino, and 4% identified as other races or ethnicities.

Although we could tier rank, over the past 25 years we've found no compelling benefit for ranking schools. Students are most successful when they prioritize personal and academic fit over school rank.
