Our College steadily attracts academically- and professionally- talented students. While our programs offer a rigorous didactic and experiential educational curriculum, our students also benefit from involvement in nationally recognized and award winning student organizations representing a variety of pharmacy practice settings.
The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences became the first pharmacy school in the Southeast and the fifth in the nation to offer the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) as its sole professional degree. This program requires six years of study following high school: a minimum of two years of pre-pharmacy education at an accredited college and four years of professional curriculum at the School of Pharmacy.
The School operated from the Walton Street building in downtown Atlanta for many years. In 1972, the Henry R. Herold Building was completed on Boulevard, across from the Georgia Baptist Medical Center, approximately one mile east of downtown. In 1991, the Southern School of Pharmacy relocated to the Cecil B. Day Campus of Mercer University, 15 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta.

Although we could tier rank, over the past 25 years we've found no compelling benefit for ranking schools. Students are most successful when they prioritize personal and academic fit over school rank.
