Curriculum

Mayo Medical School's innovative patient-based M.D. Program curriculum is characterized by two prominent features: extensive early patient interaction and creative integration of sciences into all segments of the curriculum. At MMS, you'll learn to practice medicine within a supportive culture that is patient-directed, learner-focused, and guided by the Mayo Clinic Model of Care. You'll experience medical practice in a variety of settings from primary care in a small, rural satellite clinic to technologically sophisticated tertiary care in a large, well-equipped health-care center. Third-and fourth-year students may choose rotations at the Mayo Clinic practices in Jacksonville, Fla., and Scottsdale, Ariz.

Facilities

The Mayo Clinic campus in downtown Rochester is comprised of several buildings connected through an extensive network of skyways and subways. The Gonda Building, the Mayo Building and Rochester Methodist Hospital provide a wholly integrated facility combining inpatient and outpatient clinical practice, education and research. In all, Mayo Clinic occupies approximately 13 million square feet - about 2.5 times the size of the Mall of America.
